Privacy Policy for MMORealms Discord Link Bot

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the MMORealms Discord Link Bot ("the Bot") collects, uses, and protects user data when linking Minecraft accounts to Discord accounts on the MMORealms Minecraft server (play.mmorealms.gg).

2. Data We Collect

When you link your Minecraft account to your Discord account, we store the following data in our database:

Your Minecraft UUID (a unique identifier assigned by Mojang)
Your Discord User ID (a unique numeric identifier assigned by Discord)
Whether you have claimed link rewards (true/false)
Whether you have claimed Nitro boosting rewards (true/false)

During the linking process, the Bot temporarily reads your Minecraft username solely to set your Discord nickname. Your username is not stored in our database beyond this one-time use.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not store Discord message content. Messages in the linking channel are read only to extract the link code, then deleted after 5 seconds.
We do not collect email addresses, IP addresses, or any personal contact information.
We do not track your activity, messages, or presence outside the linking channel.
We do not collect data from users who have not initiated the linking process.

4. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively for:

Verifying and completing the Minecraft-to-Discord account link
Assigning the "Linked" Discord role
Setting your Discord nickname to your Minecraft username (one-time)
Synchronizing Minecraft permission groups to corresponding Discord roles
Tracking whether you have claimed link rewards and Nitro rewards

5. Data Retention

Your linked account data (UUID, Discord ID, reward status) is stored as long as your accounts remain linked. You may request deletion of your data at any time by unlinking your accounts or contacting a server administrator.

Message content read in the linking channel is never persisted to disk, database, or logs — it exists only in memory for the duration of processing (5 seconds maximum).

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or disclose your data to any third party. Your data is stored on our private server infrastructure and is only accessible to authorized MMORealms server administrators for support purposes.

7. Message Content Processing

The Bot reads message content exclusively in a single, clearly-labeled linking channel. This processing is limited to extracting a link code from messages matching the format "/link ". All messages in this channel are automatically deleted within 5 seconds. No message content is stored, logged, or used for any purpose beyond the immediate linking operation. Messages in all other Discord channels are never read or processed.



          
            8. Opt-Out
            You may decline to link your accounts entirely, in which case no data is collected. Linked users may unlink at any time, which removes all associated data from our systems. Message content processing is limited to the linking channel — users who do not post in that channel are never subject to message content reading.
          

          
            9. Children's Privacy
            The Bot does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our service is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age under Discord's Terms of Service.
          

          
            10. Changes to This Policy
            We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the linking service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
